FFK 10k raises more than £20,000

The inaugural Futures For Kids 10k run held yesterday raised over £20,000 as more than 150 runners gathered to take part.

Held to mark 10 years since the launch of the futures industry charity, the run took place at the Olympic Park in Stratford London.

OSTC’s COO Ian Firla won the overall race, completing the 10km course in 37:12 minutes. Ellie Moffatt from Mazars won the women’s race with a time of 40:16.

The 5km race was won by Sam Harry of JDX with his colleague Alexa Carter winning the women’s race with times of 20:16 and 22:12 respectively.

A team from FOW also competed with Tim Willmott coming in 6th overall with a time of 41:01.

The event was sponsored by Calypso, Ion, Cinnober, Fidessa, GH Financials, OSTC, RJ O’brien, FOW, Illuminate, Kite and KRM22 with support from Cult Wines, FIA and John Lothian News.

The event was the brainchild of Cult Wine’s director and former futures industry executive Patrick Thornton-Smith and was organised with help from a team at the FIA.
