Emirates NBD Asset Management displays a strong fixed income track record, with its Emirates MENA Fixed Income Fund returning 45% since its inception in mid-2010, and despite the adverse headwinds facing the fixed income industry over the last year, the firm’s market share and overall AuM have remained stable.

The firm’s dedication to Islamic fixed income funds has helped maintain these levels, with the Emirates Global Sukuk and Islamic Money Market Fund returning 32% and 7% respectively since 2010.

The firm’s range includes a full set of Sharia-compliant products alongside their conventional counterparts, covering real estate, EM/MENA equities and debt, as well as global multi-asset portfolios.

Led by Usman Ahmed, the head of the firm’s fixed income desk and an expert in MENA debt, the team offers a diverse collection of investment vehicles, from in-house managed public funds to tailor-made discretionary portfolios.

Emirates NBD Asset Management is the largest asset management company in the UAE, with the largest number of in-house managed funds, but its unique advantage comes from the backing of its parent company Emirates NBD. As an independent asset manager supported by the largest financial services company in the UAE, the firm can fall back on resources and expertise that other regional players cannot.

With a focus on strong risk controls, the firm employs sophisticated techniques to drive performance and control risk in order to control volatility during times of market turbulence, and outperform its major peers during more opportune times.
